SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., June 15, 2015 -- On April 25th at 11:56 am NST a 7.8 magnitude earthquake shook Nepal near its capital Katmandu, flattening entire communities and triggering an avalanche on Mount Everest. It was the most powerful disaster to strike Nepal since the 1934 Nepal-Bihar earthquake. More than 8,800 people were announced dead, with casualties reported in Nepal and adjoining areas of India, China and Bangladesh. Countless families lost everything – loved ones, their homes and their livelihoods.
Inspired by our commitment, "Because People Matter," BPM employees joined together to help the individuals affected by the disaster. BPM employees raised a total of $17,790, which was distributed through four organizations to help the Nepal community.
"Every dollar matters," said Rich McDonnell, Partner and Chair of BPM's Community Outreach Initiative. "This is just one way BPM can help provide relief to those who are still suffering from the aftermath of this catastrophic earthquake."
