Award Further Confirms BPM’s Commitment to Empowering Women Leaders
SAN FRANCISCO, CA, July 23, 2020 – BPM, one of the 50 largest public accounting and advisory firms in the country, announced that Julie West, Partner and Chair of the Firm’s Corporate Tax Practice and Co-Chair of its Life Sciences industry group, has been selected as one of the Silicon Valley Business Journal’s 2020 “40 Under 40,” which recognizes young stars in Silicon Valley impacting their industries and communities.
As one of the youngest CPAs to make partner at BPM, West has more than 15 years of public accounting experience, working with clients in the biotech, pharmaceutical, medical device, software, social media, communications and manufacturing industries. She deals extensively with tax provisions, Section 382 studies to determine limitations on tax attributes, and sales tax exposure, as well as advising companies involved in a wide range of transactions, including mergers, asset and stock acquisitions and foreign expansion.

Since West became Chair of the Corporate Tax Practice in 2017, it has grown by 12% year over year and continues to attract top talent. In her Life Science industry group role, West leads the development and organization of educational panels, roundtables and monthly meetings aimed at expanding the group and driving business development. She is also a member of the Firm’s Inclusion Now! (IN) Committee, which focuses on ensuring a firm culture that enhances the retention, recruitment and professional development of women, minorities, LGBTQIA+ and non-binary team members.
