BPM’s Commitment to Female Leaders Gains Further Recognition

SANTA ROSA, CA, June 17, 2020 – BPM, one of the 50 largest public accounting and advisory firms in the country, announced that Alissia Pope, Director of Tax, has been selected as one of the North Bay Business Journal’s 2020 “Women in Business,” which recognizes 17 of the most outstanding female leaders, innovators and visionaries in the North Bay.

With nearly 20 years of experience providing comprehensive financial and business counsel to privately-held companies in the North Bay and beyond, Alissia works with an array of clients – some of which have been with her for her entire career. She has established herself as a perennial tax specialist who takes pride in exceptional client service and the trust she inspires in her clients.

“Whether it is day-to-day tax consulting and planning work or attending networking events throughout the year, I have always found it important to entrench myself in the industry ecosystems in which my clients operate,” she said. “Understanding their pain points and the industry-specific issues they face allows me to be a better advisor to them. Being recognized for my efforts at work and in the North Bay community is extremely gratifying. As I look at the other incredible female professionals on this list, I am proud North Bay businesses are in such good hands.”

Alissia is also at the forefront of recruiting new professionals to BPM and serves as a career coach for new hires in the North Bay office. She is one of the Firm’s inspiring leaders who demonstrates how giving women an opportunity to grow, lead and succeed strengthens businesses of all sizes.

“Alissia’s remarkable client work and mentoring efforts have been tremendous assets for BPM and the surrounding community,” said Carol Spindler O’Hara, Partner in Charge of BPM’s North Bay office. “This recognition is truly indicative of the type of person and strong and savvy business partner Alissia is.”

The North Bay Business Journal will recognize Alissia and the other 2020 “Women in Business” winners via a virtual webinar celebration on June 30. They will also be featured in the publication’s “Women in Business” special issue on June 29.

This year, Accounting & Financial Women’s Alliance (AFWA) recognized BPM as a “Best CPA Firm for Women” for the sixth consecutive year and emphasized BPM’s diverse group of female leaders – like Alissia – has accelerated a culture change and allowed the Firm to rapidly develop relationships with new clients in new markets.
