SAN JOSE, California – BPM is pleased to welcome Alexander Waniek as a partner in its International Tax Services (ITS) Practice.
Alex has over 25 years of experience in public accounting, the last 15 with Ernst & Young LLP where he served as the International Tax Services leader for their San Diego office. His practice emphasizes international tax advisory services to technology and communications companies, focusing on offshore intellectual property structures, tax-efficient supply chain structures, global investment and financing arrangements and repatriation strategies.
“We are very excited to have Alex as part of our team,” said Doug Wright, chair of the Firm’s ITS Practice. “This is a significant step towards further expansion of BPM’s international tax practice, particularly in the San Jose/Silicon Valley/Peninsula markets due to Alex’s full-time presence in San Jose.”
Prior to Ernst & Young, Alex spent seven years with Arthur Andersen. His industry experience spans from high technology, life sciences and e-commerce to engineering and construction.
He is an attorney and Certified Public Accountant licensed to practice in California. He received his B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles, and his LL.M. and J.D. from the University of San Diego.
