Community

Community involvement is central to BPM’s mission.

Since its formation, the firm’s people-centric focus and dedication to service have applied not only to clients and employees, but to individuals and families who make up the communities in which we live and do business.

BPM Day

Every year our offices close for a day so that our employees can join together in teams for the community service event known as BPM Day. Projects encompass a broad selection of philanthropic activity from restoring local wildlife habitat, to building sets for a community theater, to painting and cleaning a homeless shelter. Over time, the firm has contributed more than 100,000 hours of volunteer labor to over 75 nonprofits through BPM Days.

Meals on Wheels

For 50 years, Meals on Wheels Diablo Region has been delivering nutritious meals to older adults in need of support. In September, the nonprofit’s building was devastated by a fire, and it will take at least a year to recover from the smoke and water damage. In the meantime, BPM’s Walnut Creek office is happy to share its space, providing the nonprofit a place to continue doing its important work.

Board and Professional Service

Free education programs for nonprofits and Community Liaisons in each office that monitor the needs of their surrounding communities are just a few examples of the ongoing service ethic that is part of daily life at BPM. The firm’s partners and managers currently serve on more than 80 boards of nonprofit, business and community organizations. BPM partners are active leaders in professional organizations including the California Society of CPAs, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and San Francisco Chamber of Commerce.

Annual Junior Achievement Bowl-a-Thon

The Junior Achievement Bowl-a-Thon is just one of the many ways BPM contributes to causes that make our community a better place.Click hereto learn more about Junior Achievement Bowl-a-Thon.

School Partnerships

Because students matter, for more than 27 years we have partnered with three local schools in underserved communities where colleagues donate their time throughout the year to provide learning opportunities to students. Each year, BPM holds an annual art contest and receives over 200 entries. BPM colleagues help choose the art to be highlighted on social media and our website. Budding artists get recognition for their work, while each school wins art supplies for their classroom.

Our partnership schools include Redding Elementary School in San Francisco, Seton St. Elizabeth School in Palo Alto and Kid Street Learning Center in Santa Rosa.
