Jim Babcock is a shareholder of Burr Pilger Mayer, Inc. and is responsible for the overall management of the Governmental Assurance Services Group. Jim has extensive experience in public accounting, including 11 years at a national CPA firm. He has also held the position of Director of Technical Member Services at the California Society of Certified Public Accountants. In this capacity he assisted numerous CPAs and auditors around the state with implementation of new accounting and auditing standards. His areas of expertise encompass financial services including audit, review and compilation, financial and management consulting, and quality control and peer review.
Jim was the 2006/2007 President of the San Jose Chapter of the California Society of Certified Public Accountants (CALCPA). He is also a member of the CALCPA State Committee Accounting and Auditing and he has served as vice chair of the California State Board of Accountancy Committee on Report Quality. In addition, he is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Jim is also actively involved in the Rotary Club.
